Where truth is held, worked, and transformed.
We are not interested in superficial diversity conversations or performative institutional commitments. We help leaders understand the systems they operate within, recognize their responsibility, and develop the courage and capacity to lead differently.
Dr. MarcusAntonio Gunn, Principal Consultant
The Four Cs of Leadership™
The leadership required to interrupt inequality, not simply recognize it.
Conviction
What will I stand for?
Holding equity commitments when convenience, precedent, or institutional pressure push us elsewhere.
Courage
What am I willing to confront?
Naming racialized patterns, challenging normalized practices, and using our influence despite discomfort.
Creativity
What am I willing to redesign?
Imagining and implementing alternatives that change the conditions producing inequity.
Care
Whose humanity shapes my decisions?
Taking responsibility for the human consequences of our decisions, especially for those carrying institutional burdens.
Leadership is not defined only by what we believe. It is revealed by what we are willing to change.
The work connects scholarship, lived experience, practical application, and accountability.
We do not believe transformation occurs simply because someone has received information. Transformation requires reflection, courage, action, and accountability.
Our work is explicitly grounded in confronting anti-Blackness, racism, white supremacy culture, homophobia, and systemic inequities.

A keynote you will hear and feel.
Dr. Gunn's keynotes bring together critical scholarship, Black intellectual traditions, storytelling, and song. In some keynotes, singing and storytelling are central to how the message lands, and many people now expect them when they hear him.
He also leads workshops and facilitated learning experiences for institutions, professional organizations, and leadership communities.
About Dr. Gunn
Dr. MarcusAntonio Gunn is a higher education scholar-practitioner, antiracist leadership strategist, public speaker, and Co-Founder of The Gunn Collective LLC, where he serves as Principal Consultant of Gunn Phi Consultants. His work centers on confronting anti-Blackness, advancing racial justice, cultivating courageous leadership, and transforming institutional structures that perpetuate systemic inequities.
He earned his Doctor of Education in Higher Education Adult Learning from Walden University. His doctoral research examined the experiences of Black male administrators navigating pathways into leadership at community and technical colleges.
As a Black queer scholar and leader, Dr. Gunn brings an intersectional understanding of identity, liberation, and the complexities of navigating systems historically designed to marginalize Black communities. His work affirms Blackness not simply through narratives of resistance and survival, but through the intellectual, cultural, creative, and collective traditions that sustain Black life, joy, and possibility.
Before many knew him as a consultant, they knew Dr. Gunn through his voice. Vocal performance and spoken word have long been his way of connecting with the public, and that artistry remains part of how he moves audiences today.
Our responsibility is not simply to prepare people to survive unjust systems, but to develop the courage, imagination, and collective capacity to transform them.
